Poster's entire guild was invited to try the EQ2 beta. I gotta say, that is good marketing. It is relationships that make MMORPGs and by inviting the entire guild to try EQ2 I would think SOE would increase their chances of enticing the entire guild to purchage EQ2.

Gotta hand it to them on this one. *Wishes Blizzard would extend an OB invitation to all of DoJ*

Open Beta is just that. Everyone is invited. SOE is trying to get guilds to join their closed beta. I have not read that EQ2 will be having a totally open Beta.

I have not read very good things about EQ2. Totally open Beta is a marketing tool. Its not really a beta, it is a free trial.

You have to have guts to have a totally open trial for an online game because if it sucks you are doomed.

I dont think SOE will ever have a Open trial of any online game. Hang your hat on that.
