I am in contact with 4 guilds, whom I am trying to get on the same server, for WoW. These guilds represent around 400 people. These are people I have played with in a few other MMO's, and good people. I think having them as Allies will be very good for DoJ. I will keep you posted.

Awsome. Since I am not in the closed beta I dont have the server list / regions yet. As soon as I have the list then we can deside on the server. If those guilds are in New England I gather there will only be 2 or 3 servers to choose from so, so the chances are high that we all end up together. Especially with the rules for log on that they are going to have.

So far, 2 of the guilds are game for getting on our server. That's about 100 people. Still trying to reach the other 2. Better than nothing =) I'll keep you informed.

As I read Blizzard's localization policies, it appears North Americans will be able to play on any server in North America. Australians and Kiwis can play on N. American servers too. We just won't be able to play on the Korean or European servers without special dispensation. I thought servers were going to be West Coast or East Coast...you choose, but lag and latancy will be better if you play on your own coast's servers. Didn't realize they were going to be as specific as New England, MidAtlantic, etc. Since most of DoJ members live on the east coast half of the nation, I assumed we'd choose an east coast server, but we have a couple of Canadian members and quite a few Floridian members so we are pretty spread out up and down the east coast. Not sure who is planning to try WoW from among all our membership, but as a guild we are spread out across the North American continent and we even have a few limey members. I certainly hope Blizzard backs off on this strict localization stance. I wanna play with Chris and Santa! I click on the WoW beta site many times a day, hoping to see the announcement for Open Beta. Makes me worry about the Nov. 11 release date. Surely they will get this thing on the shelf before Christmas. From what I read it is in far better shape than SWG was when it went live. Course, that really isn't such a high mark to reach.
