From what I read, various races will be limited to certain locales until they are at a higher level. Since I want to play with my friends and not be separated off, alone in some distant locale, I was wondering what races folks were interested in for their starting character?
I like Human, followed by Night Elf and then Gnome. I just don't see myself as a dwarf. Didn't Gimli say dwarven females have beards?
Anyway, what races are folks most interested in playing when the game starts? Remember certain classes can only be played by a limited number of races. For example, the Paladin class is limited to humans and dwarves.

I will probably be playing a human so I can play with you guys ( I assume most6 of you are playing human), but my main will probably be either undead or orc. I just think it's more fun to rp monsters and evil chyaracters.

I'll be playing an orc (likely Shaman or Warrior) and probaly some variety of human do-gooder (Paladin or Druid) on the flip side of the coin.
Wife and I seem to be becoming heavily re-addicted to DAOC so may not try out WoW until a bit after release. Suppose we'll see. I'm not pumped enough to get on the pre-order bandwagon so I'll just see when it finally gets to stores in my neck of the woods before picking it up.

If I can play both sides then you'll see me as a Tauren Shaman. Then a human mage on the flip side.

As I have been reading the WoW boards, it appears you can only have characters on a server that are of the same faction. So, if Mackenzie has an orc on the DoJ server, he won't be able to have any Alliance characters. Maybe we need to pick two servers, one for the Defenders of Justice and one for the Desecrators of Justice. I think I would enjoy being an orc with Mackenzie to explore my dark side.

It'd probaly be best to focus on one "side" to start with and see about demand for experiencing the flip side of the coin. If DAOC is any indicator - even though there are 3 realms with a lot of completely different stuff in them people get into one and generally stay there. With Level based games it really is a bit of a pain to start over even if you do want to experience the content of the flip side.
Most likely if I do get the game I figured I'd be doing my orc/horde exploration with Shadowclan and experiencing the alliance side with DoJ.

Ill do both sides of the fence with you. WoW is Content / quest based game. Best way to level up is to do these quests. There is enough quest to advance you all the way to the top. So the grind is more transparent.
