Is it just me or are there other guild memebers that still recall the days such as Thanksgiving and X-Mas where you could attend large guild feasts and find lovely little presents in your backpacks when you logged on that rose to outrageous prices the second they came out due to the need for people to decorate their houses for the holidays. Or how about when we all made american flags on our porches using bandages to show our patriotism. I miss logging in only to find out that my plants had died or caught a virus no matter how annoying it was at the time, especially since i did not once grow a proper plant. Still though my house looked great because of the merchant system in the game, I simply loved wandering around by the moongates searching for things to decorate my house or improve my skills. Sometimes I sit and wonder why the games we play now have not developed a housing system like the one in UO. SWG tried, but if you ask me they failed, there wasn't enough stuff to decorate your house or the ability to customize it. Sure UO had its down falls, the skill cap was too low and the skills sometimes too hard to gain also the communication system was lacking (not that we knew that at the time), but I personally really enjoyed the FEEL of UO its something that i find hard to experience in other games. I think that this is mainly due to the fact that many of the games today are simply based on fighting skills there is no realestate or selling of goods to the extent that there was in UO. For some reason i also feel that I made better friends in UO, outside of the guild, than i have in other games. I don't know what the point of my little rant here is but i just was wondering i guess what other fond or not so fond memories other guild members have of UO. Also, if they did come out with a new UO with better graphics i think i would be one of the first to buy it. I think its kinda a shame how they lost some of the reneisance (no idea how to spell that) feel of the game by adding ninjas and elves, but still i feel sad for the guild members that came after UO, who never got to go to the guild castle for a meeting or the brazenhead. NADIAN P.S. Niamb if you read this i'm dreadfully sorry for the grammatical mistakes and spelling mistakes that are probubly in this post lol!!! ;D

I have fond memories of Chris the Limey our designated dirt-napper. I bet he had the biggest collection of death robes in the game. I love the housing in UO except for the fact you could place them so close together. I can't tell you how many times I was killed by a mob because I got stuck on someones cornerstone.
Going to Doom and having group wipes lol. Trying to train your dragon's skills and having it turn on you, yippee. The brazen monkey who can forget that.
You know you can play UO on Mondays on the aseroth service? I have my link titled "UO without the jerks". Problem is I always seem to remember on Tuesday that I missed Monday.
Nadian reading your post also brings back memories of a young girl in guild chat asking people to come help her because she was stuck in Britannia and needed some recall scrolls lol. You have matured so much since then.
I agree, but don't know what is missing in the current gamit of games. One thing for sure we will always have our memories.

My fondest memories of UO proper was fishing with Jim with my alt Xerces and trying to place my house with Terina on Hythloth. Meeting Jaxs for the first time on a hunt in the Lost lands. Just hanging out by the telescope was fun.
I had the most fun on private shards. Orbsydia if anyone remembers that and the of course Lanka's shard. Now that was fun!!!

Meeting Shea at the Moonglow Telescope for the first time and being introduced to DoJ. He seemed like such a nice guy on first impression....
The first DoJ Caravan, the raid on Terrathans, the Dungeon Tours..Lot of good memories, definitely more good than bad.

Who can forget the "Reds" that annoyed us so much, but kept us coming back? Fumanchu (plus his alts) and Poisonfish (he had a blue and a red with same name...dirty trickster). The raid in Trinsic was very cool, and hanging with DoJ folks anywhere rocked.
PS
"warp" doh! where's my chest i locked down when i logged off?? Rare Black or White plants Gaining archery in the Zoo in Moonglow Echo's little group of thugs in Hythloth behind the Daemon's
Limey's Death robe trail on Champ Spawns R.S. Lootster Morning coffee's with Niamb and Roth Vlad's yellow robe, his numerous rescues of us lil' folks
and of course, hangin wit' da little brudder was cool too

How about the server wide saga with good vs Evil? Defending a town from the undead... Shea's dungeon wipes.. i mean crawls.. lol...
Sitting at the Scope deuling with Archon... runnin for your life as a newb trying to get to the moonglow cemetary, having to run thru the red district right outside of town..
The unibomber at the Bone wall....
UO might not have been perfect, but it was the perfect game for DOJ.

Hey guys More fond memories for everyone to enjoy: Running through despise with my archer/mage/swordsman (you could have 8 or 9 skills when they were all 70-80) and having a blast mowing down all kinds of giant animals. How about running around with a pack of wolves? Anyone remember lord quinn that followed us around on the dungeon crawls PKing. Our short-lived caveman guild with Ug. All the great PvP with DDJ(I was especially fond of fighting shadowclan). Macro mining. The great feeling you got when you GMd(insert hard to GM skill here). Meteor showering ice daemons in the Ice Dungeon for hours at a time, not for money but for fame Getting lost wandering around t2a. Factions(I loved stealthing through at like 2 am to steal a sigil from one of the bases). Ranger armor black dye tubs. The great feeling when you finally got a macro set right so that you could fight polar bears in your hours all night without dying. Treasure hunts with Floyd. Camping decaying houses. I think I could go on for hours so I guess I'll stop.

Yeah its me, I just posted on the main board if you wanna see what I've been up to. Guess I forgot to mention the old sparring sessions in my post. Haven't been to this board in a long time.
FOND MEMORY:
Finally killing Archon when he refused to get off my boat, and then sailing the boat in the middle of the sea, anchoring, and recalling away.
So hows it been going Ter?

Ultima Online was the best game I've ever played. Unfortunately that game no longer exists. *sighs* When I logged Aia, Deirdre, Aeife and Niamb off at the Brazen Monkey for the last time I cried real tears. Nothing has ever come close to UO. When I was involved in that seer-led quest with DoJ and the village of Edinburgh, I thought I'd never leave UO. I've never found a game with so many involved role-players. Yes, I really miss housing too. World of Warcraft has not means to express one's creativity or to even individualize the appearance on one's character. They are reall missing out. *Nadian, your main error was not enough paragraph breaks*

What I miss was the days of Second Age when there was no trammel or felluca(no idea if I even spelled the right) and mining was more of a challange then a chore because of PKers wondering around. For me that was one of the best parts of mining untill the world was split in two. After that happened it just seemed to become a chore and not near as fun to me.
My one regret about the game though is that I didn't come across this guild a LOT sooner in the time I played the game. Like others have said too, There is nothing that has come close to having the same feal that UO had and I hate that.

I think I could go on for hours so I guess I'll stop. King Quinn! I could never forget that guy. remember one of the last Dungeon Tours Shea ( noo I said the name! The Naaame! ) ran we were massacred by a gang of PKs.. Or my first dungeon outing with Jaxs.It was such a disaster that Jaxs went on the boards and cussed all us newbies out, with some help by that @#$%^ Azriel chiming in and saying we should be booted from the guild ( man, we all took the game so ridiculously serious back then.Ah to be young again and have no worries or life). Like others have said, UO was THE MMPORG for me. Nothing else has been as much fun or involving. At this point I think UO was just a great accident, capturing lightning in a bottle. There have been so many MMOGs since then, and imo, they all pretty much suck. The best of them ( going by the numbers) is WoW, and even that is a pretty shallow experience. The only thing that's come close has been the game I keep bringing up but no one else is interested in, so I won't bring it up here again. What really sucks for me is I lost all the UO/DOJ screenshots I used to have. All old friends/members like Zorr,Zigglefriggit,Craftsman,Jaxs etc..

...and the dead arise!
I miss the fact that I just bought the 9th Anniversary Issue and reactivated my account. I then find that my characters have all been wiped and I can't access Catskills.
I'm waiting on a return email (they promise 24hr response, woohoo).
If the response is, "I'm sorry, I can't help you with that.", then I will feel truly at home.
What I miss most...actually beating jim at SOMETHING when I won our macing duel!!!

Rothy Catskills is having some kind of server glitch they promised to get it up and running soon. As usual they are sorry for the inconvience. If and when you go on join the alliance chat channel, we can usually be found lurking there with the guild GRI. They are a great bunch of people.

Roth-man...If I still had an account and ol' Ganesh was still alive and kickin there....I'd duel ya with him....Or maybe Imhotep.
I dont even remember what i left them at. I quit awhile after Age of Shame came out. I think he ended his days as a necro/fencer...but not sure.
Imhotep ended his days as a maxed out mage...
120 magery 120 eval int 120 wrestle 120 resist 120 meditation 120 focus
stat scroll and all....I probably loved him the most. And before Age of Shame......Ganesh the most.....before the powerscrolls(pub.16???)had a few...ganesh, Imhotep, krell were even in liking.

I remember lord quinn - that was actually my 2nd or 3rd best experience ever in UO. My friend and I were in Shame killing air elementals and quinn came in with about 3-4 healers. We had an epic battle of 2 v 1 (+3 healers) for about 15 minutes - a few near deaths on both sides. Then we did an explosion flamestrike halbeard combo together and landed it near perfectly that the healers couldn't heal through and he fell. During the looting process we managed to pick off 2-3 of the gray healers and continued to loot the regs and everything for the next 10 minutes.
This was only topped by classic orc fort battles of 2v10+ which was fun to win and an epic 2v5 in shame victory. I suppose private servers had their interests as well with things like 6v12 house wars and similar...
Oh and then there was Santa's Slay for that one memorable Christmas where we took our Santa toons out of Brit, raised our archery (so we had tactics + archery) / built arrows / went to Minoc for horses and rode back into Brit with a new color faction (it was like a color war of sorts and we created Orange - it was red and green by default)... Man... riding around on horseback with those huge arrow hits was amazing... we literally were 2-3 shotting people / destroyed a strong hold and started tainting all the colors in the room. Some people saw us and started joining in the fun - was great to be part of (miss the UO of the old days).

My fondest memory of DoJ/DDJ was the day I finally GMed parry by fighting the balron down in Tethran Keep. I was in the doorway fighting it while my crosshealers Huntress and Alverez (the Purple Haired Hussy)kept bandies on me and 3 others behind us In Vas Manaing like crazy (sad to say can't remember just who though it was likely Shea, Ulithian, and Moon). This was back when parry was absolutely awful to gain and a number of us had been 24 or 48 hr banned for having polar bears or wisps trapped in the guild tower.
