DoJ, the possiblility of Guild Wars 2,...and YOU.

Ok, now that the game is officially coming out.....Aug 28th....Aug 25 for pre-purchase....Aug 27 for pre-order.....

So I wanted to make a post here. I will be on this game...exclusively...Its ruined every other game for me....Diablo III, SWTOR, Rift, Tera Online, TSW..... I know of a few here thats bought the game, Myself and a few co-workers have bought it...and I gifted two games to a husband & wife gamer team that im good friends with.

Will DoJ be interested in trying GW2? If so...Im thinking Fort Aspenwood will be a good home...Still keeping my eyes on whos planning to make what server home. The nice thing here is...You dont have to have a sweet guild....DoJ can start off slow...just use old vets n' such, because....unless it changes in the future. You can be part of multiple guilds. You could for instance....be a huge crafting fan...and join some crafters union. Not to pvp or pve with. But to get together and try to set the global market on goods or such. So DoJ could be made...but we all could hook up with a larger guild say....for World vs World.

Only one guild gets the notoriety that you build up while gaming. So that large guild yer part of....would be the one to put that on...so they can grow. Unless someone here wants to build up DoJ to huge numbers.... ;D

Anyone that has bought the game...I'll be on Darkhaven for this last beta weekend event this july 20-22 You will find me on an asura warrior named Buddy Christ more than likely.

Again, come live event...we may try for Fort Aspenwood for our home server. This game gives you 5 character slots to build from...you can buy more slots if you like. You get one home server....that is set because of World vs World. So its wise to try and get set up with friends ahead of time....if one wants to do World vs World with friends.

You can guest your characters on other servers for the pve side of the game.....so compared to other games where you can make toons on all or nearly all servers...but those toons are all lvl 1 to the grind. GW2 you can take yer lvl whatever....1-80 to other servers to pve if you choose...If that other server has a character named the same as yours...you get tagged with a set of numbers after yer name to separate the two of you, or thats how I understand it works, hehe.

Anyways...we are a week away from the last BWE, and a month past that for the grand opening...so I just wanted to post on it all.

Yep I will be there. Just waiting to see where DOJ will be. Please update as to server. Not sure my character name as of yet. I pre bought so anxious to play early!

Ive got at least 5 to 6 non DoJ...I include Brett in that even tho he was in DoJ on SWTOR, ....that will be going to whatever server we choose. In all honesty....Id love to see DoJ grow on GW2, but that takes alot of work. If we have a casual guild there, then great. The big thing to remember here is....we can all try to join a huge guild for WvW or whatever, and still all of us be in DoJ. As it stands....we are all, (the peeps I personally know within 5 miles of me, hehe) are going to beta the last one on Darkhaven. It will be packed with peeps and that shows what to expect come launch. But Im still feeling strong for Fort Aspenwood...It will end up packed too, but at least it will be packed with some strong WvW guilds that will hold to that the most.

My group really dont care where they play...they just wanna roll where Brett and myself roll. So if there is a strong interest with you guys on Guild Wars 2...please post if you dont mind alot of peeps right off the bat...or if you want a slower server to start. All It means for myself, brett, mike & amy and a few others is extra deaths on WvW if we go to slow to start server. All will end up packed to the gills with the first batch of servers is my belief for launch. just only some...(between 6 and 8 US servers) will be more coordinated than the others for WvW is all.

So please, read up and speak up on Guild Wars 2 launch if yer interested. I havent been this dedicated to a game since UO... blown all games off my harddrive for this sole game....I will be on it for the long haul. Even Brett thinks im a bit nuts for it, hehe.....and he's a GW1 vet to me by three years, hehe.

I bought it as well, haven't played in many of the beta weekends only because I didn't want the game to be spoiled by the time launch rolled around. Like the game more than SWtoR for sure.
Btw, what races is everyone playing?And where?

more than likely they will only open so many servers at pre-launch...then more at launch and so forth. this way, servers will be full. As of yet, we dont know what US servers will be available....my guess will be as follows:

Anvil Rock....probably have 4chan on it....Im sure you all have heard of 4chan...if not, look em up....I'd avoid that one, hehe.

Borlis Pass....might be a good one to roll...not a huge amount of followers on this one during BWE's.

Yak’s Bend ..cool name...but highly popular and GuildWarsGuru.com hub....so alot of tag alongs.

Sorrow’s Furnace...packed...lots of followers

Jade Quarry... full of peeps too.

Fort Aspenwood...Last one I tested..packed, loooong queue times..love the community..hate the queue.

Ehmry Bay....another smaller one...might be good for World vs World.

Darkhaven...My first server, loved it...but packed, expect long queue times.

Crystal Desert...pretty full, should show popularity with the name...might wanna pass on it.

Tarnished Coast...guilds picked it as RP server...so on the fence with it...could be packed with peeps RP'n World vs World.

Sanctum of Rall....pretty small WvW group...

Stormbluff Isle...packed full

Gate of Madness...Gates of give me a break, hehe...huge alliance..domination, long ass queues...pass on it.

Blackgate....small groups, ect.

Again, this is all a guess. But, if the last BWE showed anything... All servers will be full, the main thing to look at is. How packed will queues be of WvW. Cuz thats the only reason yer pickin a server. We can all go to any other server and guest there...which means any other server will let you take yer built character there and level in PvE, Structered PvP...you just cant World pvp on that server...only on the one you call home.

There are a few other servers from BWE's but those are more of the same in popularity. If I were to guess...Id pick one of these for a home server:

First choice... Blackgate, or Sanctum of Rall- they seemed to have the least guilds to hold claim to playing there. Better chance to get into Eternal Battlegrounds or one of the Borderlands for WvW battles.

Second choice... Borlis Pass, or Ehmry Bay- these two have more true WvW guilds there playing..so a possible queue time...but nothing like the big ones like SF, GoM, FA, or darkhaven had.

We go Borlis or Ehmry...you will see good World vs World battles, win or lose. We go Blackgate or Sanctum...we may see some pain in losses to start, but It will get better when we start getting put in brackets.

What do you guys think?...from what ive posted? And as Ive said before...DoJ can be there as a small group of friends...you can still join that other guild for WvW or such...and still be in DoJ. and on the fly, whatever group yer with at the time, you can set them to get yer points earned for said guild. So we can still gain guild exp when together...and swap when elsewhere is one wants to.

I originally wanted all five races picked...but I really dont care for the Norn at the moment, so will more than likely buy a character slot a long way down the road and use the norn race for a possible guardian.
