looks like they are really pushing a tablet style os, at least appearance wise. Got an empty hard drive but not brave enough to mess with it. ;D

I have Windows 8 installed on my laptop.
I find it difficult to use, unintuitive, and has a high learning curve for those of us familair to Windows 98-Windows 7.
Its definitely created for and to be used on tablets. I'm still looking for a way to revert the start menu back to Windows 7 style, but havent found one yet.
Even finding the Control Panel menu was difficult.
Being tech support, if this is the next big thing, i'm forced to learn it, or get left behind. /sigh

UEFI has me worried. Nothing like MS Activation / Signing at the firmware level.
I've downloaded an image but haven't tested it. I'm personally going to do a vhd boot to test it.
Also you can run a MS version of Virtual PC. You can get it from the same page you get "XP mode" from ... It doesn't work as well as the original version ... Suns Virtual PC is ok too.
... btw the MS home server 2011 is under $60. Well worth the price tag if you want a windows OS w/ softraids for data back up. Last time I check you can do an atom file server for around $250 + the cost of drives (and the left over sata II are cheap!)
