As the title says, I'm looking for a good graphic card for a dell 560s. It currently has a radeon HD 5450.

What's your budget?
Cards range from $125 to $450+

I don't want to spend more than $150 but the less expensive the better.

Make sure your power supply can handle more than what you have now. They generally put one with just enough power to run the original equipment. support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/insp560st/en/index.htmThe comprehensive specs says it has a 250W power supply but they may have put a bigger one if you ordered it with that card (recommend watts for the card is 400)

Ok I will check on that Jim. Would that cause him lag? It's just strange because I have the same pc and don't seem to have a problem.

Lag can happen from so many things that I wouldn't try to guess. The best way is to eliminate possible problems until you find something that makes a difference.
One thing right off though is his machine has probably visited sites you haven't (I don't mean anything bad just that kids are more curious and have more time to get sidetracked). I'd start by making sure the antivirus is up to date and set the same for both machines. Run both Spybot and Adaware to clean any problems.
If possible switch the towers and see if he gets lag on your machine doing his regular stuff. Maybe it's a router/cable problem. Maybe keyboard or mouse. Maybe monitor lag, whatever. If it lags then you have a place to start.
Assuming it didn't lag then I'd put them back where they belong and look for another type problem.
Run msconfig from the start button. Compare the startup tab programs on each machine and match his machine to yours. Run it and see if it still lags.
If nothing so far has helped then you might want to uninstall/reinstall the drivers on his machine.
Truthfully, there are so many problems that could cause lag that these are just suggestions and it wouldn't surprise me if none of them helped but it's a start to eliminating possible problems.

So we actually have a dell 580s and I called them to complain. They replaced his power supply and his motherboard and everything seems fine now.
