Ok I got my new pc and I left all the settings alone. However Im wondering if I need to adjust something as my internet speed seems to have declined and it bogs down at times. Never had this problem on my vista machine.

wow noice! have u checked your download speed? i go to www.pcpitstop.com/internet/bw.asp seems to be pretty good. in the task manager you can see how many processes you have running. and down by the clock if your having a bunch of apps starting up like a lot of manufacturers put could be lagging you out. otherwise i wouldnt know.

1) Download Tweaknow Regcleaner.www.tweaknow.com/RegCleaner.phpOpen that, click on Windows Cleaner, Startup Manager. Uncheck all items that dont say Windows, Microsoft, Touchpad, Synaptics, ATI, Nvidia, Intel, AMD, Camera, or the brand of your PC. Restart. 2) Reopen Tweaknow Regcleaner.Run "Analyze" on the main page, over on the top right. Once scan is complete, click "Fix and Clean" I suggest you run this once a month. 3) Download Microsoft Security Essentials 64bitwww.microsoft.com/security_essentials/It's free, powerful, has a small footprint. Dont install yet. DISCONNECT FROM THE INTERNET.4) Uninstall all anti-virus, spyware protection, etc that came with the machine.Control Panel > Programs and Features Restart PC. 5) Install Microsoft Security Essentials.Re-connect to Internet. Run quick scan and updates. 6) Run Tweaknow Regcleaner once again."Analyze" & "Fix and Clean" You may also want to run Tweaknow Regcleaner a couple more times. > Windows Cleaner > Registry Defragmenter > Windows Cleaner > Disk Cleaner Your PC should now be running a little quicker. You may also want to do a power cycle on your Modem and/or Wifi Router. Unplug both > Wait 30 sec > Plug in Modem Only > - For Cable Modem, wait for 4 Solid Lights. - For DSL modem, wait for DSL, Internet lights to be solid. > Plug in WiFi router. This will sometimes fix slow speeds, and/or connectivity issues.

Tools - manage add-ons
Then turn off all the stuff you don't need.
Worked for my wife. Loads of junk.
Just something to check.
