Anyone have a guest pass to give away? I read somewhere that the collectors edition has 5 not sure of the regular game.
I'm just curious about trying it out but not making any promises, I barely have time to play one mmog lately heh.

Yup there are Buddy Passes ( regular boxes get one), and I'd give mine to you in a heartbeat, but they haven't been activated yet. According to Funcom they're waiting for the server populations to stabilize.I've a feeling if the launch hadn't done so well for them ( they sold a ton of boxes), they'd be handing the passes out like candy heh.
Hopefully soon.

If anyone else wants one, I'll be more than glad to give mine to someone when they're activated. They've been patching a lot, but things are getting better.

Well, that's a crock! I read that buddy codes were finally being unlocked, but in my account it says I don't have any. Hmm. I was one of the early access as well s beta testers ( and pre-orders to boot). Maybe they just haven't gotten around to my account yet? I know they were giving top priority to the " collectors edition " folks.

The buddy passes are working now, but there is a catch. Unless you have a way to get ahold of the client, either from someone who has the game that can loan you the install dvd, or from a download ( maybe bittorrent?) , they make you pay 3 bucks to dl the files. They do say that the 3 bucks will add another 3 days to your trial though.
Anyways, if still interested, pm me your email addie and I'll fill out the invite form, and from that they'll send you the buddy invite. Sounds like a lot of hoop jumping, but it is a pretty decent game so far.

I'll be trying it out tomorrow sometime, another 5.5 hours to go for the download and then who knows what for patching.

I made a err Dark Templar on Dagoth, not to much of an opinion so far only level 9. All the combo stuff felt like I was fighting in Witcher though.

Ive played the game for awhile now, and decided to suspend my account for the time being.
I found the game to be buggy, and unfinished. If it were in its Beta stage, Id say that they were very close to a release candidate.
Beautiful graphics, provided you have a machine that was built for high end gaming. You can kick the settings back a bit, but it wont run well regardlessly on a low end PC. (Celeron is bad)
Questing, TONS of it!
The size of the gaming world environment is HUGE! Downside to this is that all of the gaming world zones are "instances" of each area you enter, so it doesnt have that "free world" feel to it.
Although I was not able to get into too much of the PvP system, at a quick glance of the gaming dynamics and combat system, the potential to be the best PvP combat system since DAoC (imho) is very evident.
In game music & sound effects are great.
Overall, If someone were to ask If I recommended buying AoC, I would tell them to hold off at the moment. The current trend I have seen for most MMORPG's is the 1 year anniversary. After the first year, it seems that they tend to be corrected, revamped, and rounded out to provide a solid gaming experience.
This is all based upon my opinion, so take it for what its worth.
