Whichever is closest to a moongate. Oops, wrong game heh.
I don't care on the style or area except for proximity to bank and auction house. I"d be partial to Thorin Hall area if it's as close to bank and auction house since it's pretty easy to get around in Thorins Hall.
Are these areas instanced or in the normal game world? How we get to it and back out is a consideration too.

They are instanced zones/neighborhoods ala daoc. We will be getting a house 'recall' skill like the bind recall and class trait recall, not sure if it will be on the same timer though. I haven't checked, I hope not!
I believe also for a new housing zones areas to open up each spot has to be filled including the tiny houses, not positive on this though.

I voted Dwarf. The convenience argument makes sense, and I like area's music.

The dwarf area btw is dark and is very dwarvish . Houses are all stone and inside a huge cavern. It is not 'pretty' and 'happy looking' like the Elf areas. I bought a house on the preview server on 1 Roaring Way in the first listed instance . It is a deluxe one for little over 7 gold almost 8. View kinda sucks but there are some that are on an island or on a big hill overlooking things. The items you can buy are your standard housing items, furniture, plants and things. You can even buy wall, floor paint and set the ambient music for your home.

Hmmm... I wonder if the dwarf area might be too dour for long term exposure. I would like to withdraw my dwarf vote. Any area (including dwarves) is fine with me. The look of housing is not important to me, just need my friends and my high speed internet

Not much voting going on anyway wouldn't worry lol
Most don't seem to care where I think. I just hope to get at least few of us placing together near kin house.
------------- I'm starting to lean toward a small house for myself, big one just not good investment this point in the game and this early in housing.

I'm kinda partial to Elves. Would think the atmosphere would be a tad more uplifting, but I'm willing to go along with the crowd. ;D

Just so people know you get a vendor discount including repairs for the housing area you are in. If you are in same housing area as kinship hall you get double the bonus. I think it is 20% for personal house and 15% for kinship hall. This picture below(click on it) is a map of what all the Thorins Hall zones look like. I'll be trying for the 14.5 gold one obviously. The middle one a person may think it looks good but it really isn't those houses around it are down below, the kinhall is way up top. On the preview server I had a house on 1 Roaring Road, a nice deluxe house, near exit. At entry way with list of neighborhoods you can port in to your house and kin hall no need to run all over except once you inside.
