I'm not sure if any are looking at playing Everquest 2 when it is released. I just ordered my copy a couple of days ago, and am still waiting to see if I pull my beta access (highly unlikely but you never know). Was curious about any DOJer's making their way into that game setting up on the same server and all that.

I'm going to at least give it a go.I already pre=ordered it a month ago. Still lookin for that elusive game that has good game play and has an environment that encourages rp( besides NWN,love the game and the folks I play with, but would be nice to play something with nicer graphics)..

I'm considering it when it comes out. Not sure though. It would be nice if we could all be on the same server.

Yeah Wiz,that would be great. I've been tinkeriong around with EQ out of boredom.A lot has changed, and a lot hasn't.It's still a grind, but there is a nice online tutorial now. It can be a fun game,as along as you don't let yourself get caught up min the whole levelling treadmill.PvM'ing can be fun,I'd forgotten how cool Crushbone is, and the elven tree city. The character graphics improved a lot. Not something I'm putting a lot of time in,but it's a decent time waster, and I prefer it as a game over SW:G. Oddly from what I've read so far,EQ 2 has a lot of similarities with SW:G. I goit a character creation tool for pre ordering, and it is a lot like SW:G.

It really does look like a cool game. Since the first EQ, SOE has alway been able to make cool looking games. I played the first EQ a long time and thought it was a good game overall. Great graphics at the time and some interesting gameplay. It was a slow and tedious at times. Got tired of the whole camp for items thing.
The main thing that might keep me from playing is that is run by SOE. They're not particually respectfull when providing customer support. They may have changed now but I got the impression that they didn't value me as a customer. Some of things they do really just seem wrong to me. At times, they seem to have a "Us vs Them" mentality. Another thing is the offshoring of their tech-support. I'd at least like to be able understand the person when I call tech-support.

Yah that's another reason I didn't like SW:G. All the unfinished classes ( when I cancelled they were talking about revamping combat.Guess what, still talking and the game has been out for over a year, plus they were also stringing the smugglers along with promises about fixing things there.). The space expansion may turn out to be cool, but the basic game to me,is very boring and generic feeling.Unfortunately I think you still have to play the "regular" game to have access to the space expansion. And it's the same deal with EQ ( although I think to a lesser degree). They finally gave an official response to the state of rangers in EQ,turns out SOE's vision is rangers should be mainly dual wielding damage dealers, archery should only be a secondary skill, yet rangers are waay behind the other classes in how much damage they can deal in melee( which means in the end game rangers are screwed). So business as usual at SOE.The designers make great games, but the decision makers are a bunch of clueles idiots who probably don't even bother to play their own game. Right now I'm having relative fun playing my wood elf druid.

;D I guess it's pretty common but I started out playing a Ranger too. Played a couple of them, thinking that I spec'd the wrong skills and I wanted a server change. Ended up making a druid when I realized how poor of Ranger Claas EQ has to offer while the Druids are really kick-ass characters with lots of cool stuff. Something as a deversion while not on your gaming pc is the rogue-like text games. I've been playing Adom lately. These actually aren't that bad. If you die, it deletes your chracter but you can just save a copy of the file to another directory. www.adom.de/
