Ok.. currently im runnin a 1 gig athalon, with a chance to trade it in on a 2.6 gig celeron for the measely price of 200.00.
As im not a great fan of celeron chips, i am not adequately funded to buy what i *want* to have at this time, so the question is:
Is it worth the 200.00 to trade this out?

I wouldn't play SWG on anything less than a Pentium 4 2.6Ghz. Ideally 3Ghz+. Celerons are a lot better than they used to be but they're not designed for gaming. It would be a lot faster than you current PC though.

Thats the question, is the performance boost of a 2.6 celeron worth the cash over a 1 gig full athalon.. heh tho ill prolly end up doing the deal since i have a gig of ddram to throw into it that will help the loss of L2 cache.

Hmm for just a shade over 200 you can switch out your system board and processor for a athlon xp3000+ at newegg (if you have a good enough power supply). Under 200 if you go for the 2800+.
Your ram may not be compatable though.
Celerons suck for gaming and I doubt you would be happy wasting 200.

I wouldnt do it, I dont think you will like the performance vs dollars spent. Being a Celeron, you may not even notice the difference (hehe)
