Rules of Alliance Chat1. Keep it G Rated.
2. Cussing will not be tolerated.
3. Advertising services allowed (once every 15 minutes), but not pricing.
4. General banter allowed, less than (10 - 15 - 20) replies. More than that it should be moved to a CG, or at the request of an alliance mate.
5. Requests to move conversations to a cg by alliance mates are to be respected immediately.
6. No begging or selling (ie Auctioning) of any kind.
7. WTB's allowed but taken to private tells once a seller has been found.
8. Use common sense and common courtesy when utilizing the alliance channel.
DoJ Alliance Chat Guidelines9. If you have a question ask in guildchat first, if no answer then ask in /as.
10. Stick to DAOC related topics only - no sports, movies, music, pop culture, current events, politics, religion, etc. [Note: some off peak hours relaxation of this is acceptable, but during peak times this guideline should be followed]
11. Only reports of Level 50, ML ability (ie ding by the arbitrator) or Artifact level 10 dings permitted in /as.
12. For repetitive requests(trade/buy/sell/scroll/artifact/quests/ML help), one request per hour maximium.
13. RvR reports are acceptable - rants about PvE and "you all should be RvRing guilt-trips" are not.
14. Rants or excessive complaints not permitted in /as - if you have a problem with an alliance member take it to a Legate to bring up to the alliance officers.
Violation of the rules & guidelines above will result in warnings, mutings, longer term timeouts and permanent /as privilege removals. There can be 150+ people on at a time in our alliance and idle chatter in /as can very quickly become a nuisance when trying to follow other chats. I'd like to see the guidelines followed to ensure DoJ is doing our part to help reduce spam and ensure alliance chat can remain useful for event coordination.
Alliance Boards are here:
www.unyielding.com/forum/default.asp. Arlo, Laird, Cimba and I know the password to the Alliance section so get it from us if you need it.
Albion Boards are here:
www.albion-bedevere.com. First you have to register an account then contact a moderator in game to be approved for albion access. Board is very helpful as far as albion wide event coordination (ML's) goes.
Draft Alliance Chat RulesNo griefing or complaining in /as.*This means no complaining about not getting groups in PVE/RVR. Not having enough people to do that quest, or what ever it is your wanting to do. No complaining about how lame Alb's are or you can't get help in NF. No complaning about how gimped your class is compared to the enemy. NO COMPLAINING PERIOD.
No replying excessively to a request for help or a group.* If someone asks for help or is putting together a group for what ever reason, if you are not going to be joining them to help or group, then do not reply.
*Please keep in mind NIL responses to your requests are not rude, it simply means that there is no one currently available to assist you with your request. You will undoubtably get a response from those available to assist you.
Answer /as requests through private tells.Use /gu for all types of DING! responses, keep /as for your DING 50! We don't need to know you just dinged lvl 2 or that your arty is lvl 1.
Leave the responsibility of broadcasting an event to the event coordinator.*When someone requests assistance for an event, such as a ML raid, arty raid or any other event needing a larger group of people. The person setting up and leading the raid should be the only one announcing it in /as.
Don't lash out at Alliance Officers or other Alliance Mates when they request that you take something to a CG. JUST DO IT.*Failure to comply may result in temporary removal of your /as priveleges. These people are trying to keep /as clear of spam don't chastise them for doing something for the benefit of the entire alliance. 1000 people don't need to hear a private conversation.
No Religious or Political comments/opinions allowed.*For those of you who look at this and say, "you guys, its only a GAME, yes it is, so keep the above OUT of it."
