well for some reason when i type in something like say www.uostratics.com. I get a deal to pop up that says. microsoft internet explorer in the top of the box, with a red circle and X in the middle of it. and it says cannot find 'www.uostratics.com', make sure path or internet address is correct. Now ive tried this with many addresses and they all come back like this. only way i can get to something is by doing a search instead of using the address bar. or using my favorates list. I seen something where it said that there is something out there that messes up you internet explorer if you dont have that protected. This has just happened since i had my computer completely restored. I did a search to get to www.avast.com to get their anti virus, worm killer. and it found 10 areas infected with trojans and such, and cleaned them out. but I'm still having problems with my internet explorer address bar. Any ideas, or help would be much appreciated.

Well..if you had virus/trojan/worm etc. infect your PC, just because they are removed now does'nt mean they did'nt corrupt any files... If all is as simple as ya say, then I would think you have something corrupt somewhere. Either via the registry, or the system files. Now that the virus/trojans are cleaned out, I suppose I would try yet another restore and see what you get. If that does'nt fix it, then we will go a bit further into helping you repair your OS!! ;D Good Luck!!

I thought at first you just typed in the wrong url but if a lot of them are coming back not found then it is most likely a problem with IE or the registry. There are alot of strange things that can occur with Internet Explorer. You could try uninstalling and reinstalling it. There are also some registry keys you could play around with. Might try searching the microsoft knowledge base for answers.
