Hmm ya you sure have a rough time there.
That cpu overspeed message is due to the blue screen/reboots. I'm pretty sure you aren't overclocked so it will just reset the cpu, memory, and fsb to their designed speeds-which is what it probably was at to begin with heh. It happens with asus boards sometimes with bad boots or blue screens (I have an asus board too heh). It's a safety feature for overclockers but gets triggered sometimes with lockups or aborted reboots. Nothing to worry about at all.
Gateway may be the problem if you don't have trouble on osi uo. You can try razor (like uoassist only free) instead of gateway. You can get razor at
www.runuo.com/razor . Install it and start it. The settings are:
Load client...2nd client (auto-detect)
Have checked.... Patch client encryption
server: enter...204.210.86.79 port 2593
have checked...Show this when razor starts
then you can click...Make these settings default
And then click okay to start. Next time it should have all the info already entered.
Now to play osi again you need to follow the instructions in
this post or use the program Blackwind wrote
ailaunch . He did post some warnings in
this post so read that if you use his program instead of making the .bat file.
Blackwind's program is easier if those files he mentions don't get overwritten. Back up the mentioned files if you use it just in case but they weren't overwritten when I used it. I had no trouble using it to log into osi. I started razor normally (without using ailaunch) to go back to Asgeroth.
If you are still blue screening then try uninstalling and reinstalling uo.
If nothing worked so far, then you might want to look at your video settings-make an application profile for uo and set your antialiasing and anisotropic settings to off. If it were me I'd have vertical sync off globally too.
The only other thing I can think of is to lower the hardware acceleration for sound down a notch. I would think if this is the problem you would have had occasional lockups/crashes in other games too.
If you want I can meet you in game (either osi uo or Asgeroth) and help you set any of that.
Good luck and I hope you give it a try again.
