Okay, I'm surfing Stratics and can't seem to find info on two things. What exactly does powder of temperance do? And ancient hammers, how are they different from runics? It's getting late and I can't bear to stay up searching anymore. My curiousity won't let me rest either, so I must throw it to the guild so hopefully I can wake up manana at 4 and learn the answer before traipsing off to hell...err work. Thanks.

Powder of temperament is used to 'fully' repair an item back to it's original durability (useless with Aos, it seems) and to increase the durability to begin with. Runic hammers are used to imbue special characteristics in what you make, whereas an Ancient Smithy Hammer (ASH) is used to increase your smith skill. Currently they are bugged and do not increase you past your limit like they are supposed to, but I think that is to be fixed in pub 18.

Powder of temperance works great, it will raise an items durability by 10 points, Ash's suck, they sucked before when they worked, and they suck more now that they don't!!!
